Developed through collaboration between mental health specialists, public health experts at NIMHANS, the International Institute of Information Technology Bengaluru, and with funding from Microsoft India, the app aims to facilitate self-awareness and early intervention.
The app prompts users to consider questions such as:
- Have you been feeling persistently sad, anxious, or emotionally unsettled?
- Are you uncertain whether your experiences indicate a common mental health concern like depression or anxiety, and whether professional consultation is advisable?
- Do you hesitate to seek help due to concerns about stigma or implications for yourself or loved ones?
- Would you like to explore basic strategies for managing emotions and distress as supplementary support or initial steps?
- Are you interested in enhancing your psychological and emotional well-being even when everything appears stable?
If you answered affirmatively to any of these questions, MindNotes might serve as a useful resource. It offers guidance to understand your mental health better, recognize potential barriers to seeking help, and build a personal self-help toolkit along the way.
The application is structured into five primary sections: Self-Discovery, Breaking Barriers, Self-Help, Coping with Crisis, and Professional Connect.
